- Documenting the distinct physiographic provinces represented in Georgia: the Cumberland Plateau, the Ridge and Valley, the Blue Ridge, the Piedmont, and the Coastal Plain.
- Michigan Natural Features Inventory (MNFI)
- Responsible for inventorying and tracking the State's rarest species and exceptional examples of the natural community.
- Missouri Natural Heritage Database (MONHD)
- Identifies species and natural communities of special concern within the State and to help establish protection priorities.

- North Carolina Natural Heritage Program
- Consolidating information about hundreds of rare species and natural communities, to ensure that the public is able to weigh the ecological significance of various sites, and to evaluate the likelihood and nature of ecological impacts.
- Oklahoma Natural Heritage Inventory (ONHI)
- Central repository for information on Oklahoma's diverse natural heritage.
- Tennessee Division of Natural Heritage
- Works to restore and protect the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the natural biological diversity of Tennessee.
- Tennessee Valley Authority Natural Heritage Project
- Maintains data on threatened and endangered plant and animal species in the TVA service area, which includes almost all of Tennessee and parts of six surrounding states.
- Utah Conservation Data Center (UCDC)
- While focusing on the State's rare native species and other high-interest species as game animals, the centre also provides information on all vertebrates, many invertebrates, and plant species.
- Vermont Nongame and Natural Heritage Program (NNHP)
- Inventories and protects wild mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, molluscs, crustaceans, and insects not normally fished, hunted, or trapped.
